Hi Sean, I'm Bira Souza from Brazil Congratulations on the tutorial, very complete, I loved your explanations, can you tell me where you got these audio samples from (Vengeance and STH Sound Designed? I wait thanks!
Great tutorial, thank you very much.
Its stuff like this that gets me motivated to make orchestral music. Great stuff!!
Excellent videos, can you share all the materials files
May I ask the benefit of creating that master track vs keeping them separate? Noob question, I know.
But using multiple kontakt instances isnot affecting ram?
Just looked at some of your videos. I'm bummed you're not making anymore!
Awsome, please please more Tutorials like this!!
Please please make more orchestral cinematic tutorials like this but extended versions. That would be awsome i will supscripe to ur channel!
Your template is set up smartly. I haven't seen people use "unused" folders before. I assume all of the instrument tracks are routed to group buses for stems? Or how is that set up?
Thank you for putting together such a useful, concise tutorial. It has been invaluable as I transition over to Cubase. The disabled track feature is incredibly useful for large templates, but I just wish it was a little more automatic. In Logic all empty template tracks will open disabled by default, then auto-enable the moment you add a MIDI region to it. I'd like to see Steinberg add this to Cubase as well.
Great and very clear
Wow this is exactly what I need. Thank you, it'll be a massive time saver once set up
Thank you for your hard and time saver work ! ;)
What's the vst for the choirs you're using? Great content :)
thanks !!!
Great video, thank you! Quick question. If I was to create a template and then get a new computer down the line that has the exact same banks/samples etc but located in a different file location - would the template still work?
So many great ideas here. Thank you!
Amazing video and really helpful!
Great tutorial
Do you recommend layering different brass libraries? I heard you can layer string libraries more than you can brass libraries?
You can't use Expression Maps with this method unfortunately or I'm missing something.
Expression Maps still have too many downsides for me. Hopefully Steinberg keeps improving them.
What libraries are you using???
That unused folder idea is genius. Genius! I love it so much. All those unused tracks were one of the main reasons why I didn't enjoy a big template I made a while back. Btw, there's a keycommand available for enable/disable track. Not assigned to anything per default.
After clicking on the cpr file its asking for to locate project folder which is missing.
😍🙏
Great video, but why do you have one instance of kontakt per instrument? that uses a lot of RAM... why not group many instruments inside one kontakt instance and preserve RAM? Just a geniune curiosity question, not trying to be a troll or anything..
Great question! Both options are viable. One empty instance of Kontakt uses 60-80 MB of RAM. I have made the organization choice to do individual kontakt instances, because I have the RAM to spare. If you are constantly struggling with RAM usage, the way you described may be a better option. Hope that helps!
4:40 Logic Pro has the on off button ;)
Thanks for the tutorial. I do have a question though. I just purchased the EWQL Symphonic Orchestra libraries to use on Cubase, but when I try to use them on Cubase, the "VSTi" menu on the side is void of color, and the tracks won't play any sound whatsoever. If I try to turn the knobs for things such as pan or frequency, it'll just say "inactive". When I go to activate, it says it's already been active. What can I do to fix this?
love it 👏. don’t stop
What DAW did you use for this tutorial? Nice video btw.
It's Cubase
Fantastic tutorial for creating a Cubase template! Thank you for posting.
Just discovered your channel. Thanks for doing these. It's great to be able to look over your shoulder and hear your decision-making process. Totally worth spending 4 hours! Please do more.
This only for PRO right? I have Cubase elements and don’t have many tracks
The "unused" folder idea is really great. Thank you, I copied that to my template.
I've viewed countless orchestral composing videos and the main thing that most of them lack is taking you by the hand and showing you step by step what to do. This video is excellent. Definitely will be a go-to video for me in my new journey of cinematic composing. Well done. I hope to see more!
Thank you!
I need to watch this 10 times a day
Amazing instruction! Not just with all important steps included, but perfect amount of repetitions, perfect cutting of unnecessary parts, concise explations of why each step is important, and a very nice voice. Please keep making videos!
Amazing
Keep the good working ✨ amazing..
thank you ;)
Thank you brother for actually providing a working download link for the template. Many others talk without delivering a working link, you actually deliver. I liked and subscribed because of this. Thank you again, using the template now.
why not multi channel kontakt?
the biggest challenge in this kind of music is the confusion between mixing and composing, because we compose already mixing somehow. Here you have a pre-mix, it makes easier. And the style is a kind of cliche, what gives already a solid reference of what the end result is. I would love a video where some mixing decisions are made while composing, like the gain level or cut off of a sample that doe not sound as we want for example. But is hard to compose something good and teach at the same time. The best compositions are those who will also ask more of our mixing skills, and any setting can change even the meaning of the composition. Thx for the video!
Thank you for this really helpful video ! I wonder what's the practical use of the master track. You said you like to have one "just to be safe". Could you explain us what you mean by that ?
amazing video !!
Extraordinary result.
Very helpful, thank you very much!
